Fen Ditton School

Fen Ditton is a happy, friendly school that aims to provide a rich, caring and stimulating environment for children in their primary years.

Our success relies upon an effective home/school partnership. During the year there will be parent consultation evenings, open afternoons, concerts and P.T.F.A. events. Help in classrooms is always appreciated from parents with a little time to spare.

Fen Ditton Community Primary School is for boys and girls aged between 4+ and 11+ and serves the villages of Fen Ditton, Clayhithe and Horningsea.

Children are admitted to the Foundation class at the beginning of the school year during which they attain the age of five years. Over the last few years, demand for places has greatly exceeded the admission limit. Offers for places for September are made by the beginning of May.

Grounds and Buildings

The main school building, containing two classrooms, dates from 1936. An entrance hall, kitchen, entrance foyer and office were added in 1969. The oldest part of the school was refurbished between July and December 1996, giving a new toilet block, shower, disabled facilities, offices, staff room, extended infant classrooms and a library. A mobile unit was replaced with two permanent junior classrooms in June 1999. Due to an increase in pupil numbers a mobile classroom was added in October 1999. A new extension to house our ICT suite was added in 2003.

The school has an airy, open aspect with views over open countryside and is surrounded by a playing field and playground. There is a learner swimming pool with changing facilities which is currently being completely refurbished.

School Uniform

Our school uniform consists of navy trousers/joggers/skirt/pinafore with a navy or white shirt/T-shirt and navy sweatshirt/cardigan. A complete uniform, plus shower mack and fleece, all with printed school logos can be purchased by submitting an order through Brigade Clothing Limited
