Music At Our School

Holiday Orchestra

There is a holiday orchestra at St. Faith's School over the Easter break. It is for all abilities, aged 7 upwards and no audition is needed. There are opportunities over several days to play or sing in choirs, string and wind ensembles and recorder groups. Please see the Headteacher for a booking form or visit. www.holidayorchestra.co.uk

Lessons at our school

Recorder Lessons
Miss Bassett the Head Teacher has started teaching recorder lessons at school because she plays every type. There are about ten children in the recorder club but we would love to have some more. We are learning to play the descant recorder at first because it is easier for young children with small fingers to start with. Recorder club is on every Monday after lunch. It takes place in Butterfly’s class and everybody sits round the middle table. I have enjoyed doing recorder lessons very much so far because Miss Bassett is a very good teacher and I like playing along with her CD. I also like it because Miss Bassett is very kind, helpful and fun during lessons. Everybody that goes so far has enjoyed it so I am sure you will and if you already play an instrument and enjoy it you might want to sign up for recorder club.

Choir Club
Miss Bassett the Head Teacher has started a choir club at school because she wants people to enjoy singing. It takes place in the hall before lunch on Thursday or Friday. There are about twenty children doing it but we still have room for more. We sing lots of songs including Bare Necessities and Beauty and the Beast, which are our favourite songs at the moment. We also like a song called Silver Moon and a song called gravity as well. The choir club will be going to go carol singing and also is going to sing at a few singing festivals. Everyone that goes so far likes it a lot so I am absolutely sure you will too. If you know that you like singing a lot why not sign up for choir club.

Details about our Orchestra

Miss Bassett the Head Teacher wants more children in the school to learn music so she has started an orchestra. There are, so far, two electric guitars, a cello, a few recorders, and Miss Bassett plays the piano. It starts at 8.30am and ends at 9.00am
