Welcome Back News! ICT Clubs - The registers for these clubs are now ready, please come into the ICT Suite to check when your child has been allocated a place on the club requested or ask them to look themselves.. The Typefaster list is also displayed on the ICT Suite doors so children please check when you need to come. I am so happy to say that these clubs have proved so successful that to write letters to you all would be unmanagable which I why I have created registry lists instead. Any problems or queries feel free to pop in and see me. Thanks, Angie. KS2 Photography Competition - Two new official school photographers from KS2 are needed now that Rory has left. If any child is eager to take on this responsibility they need to enter the competition. See Angie to sign up to borrow the school camera for a day to take pictures around the school. During one of the lunchtimes Angie will help to get the photos uploaded and then the child can pick the one they want to put forward for the competition, they need to try to take a photo that shows how great it is to be at our school and give the picture a caption. School lunches - the school lunch costs have changed. They are now £1.90 per day, £9.50 per week or £74.10 per Half-Term. Helping in School - There is going to be a course for voluntary classroom helpers. It is run by the Worker's Educational Association(WEA) and is accredited through the Open College Network. The course is provided free of charge. Anyone interested should contact the school office for details. (email link on the "School Details" page of this site). Car Parking - please remember the school car park is for staff or disabled use only. If you use the layby outside the school please avoid the "School Bus" area. The Blue Lion kindly allow us to use there car park during drop off and pick up times and it is only a short walk to school from there. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. |

Chicks!!! Living Eggs are a company that provide "all you need to successfully hatch and raise chicks in the classroom". We were lucky enough to have 12 eggs which we kept warm in the incubator provided. We watched carefully and had to wait patiently (not always easy!) for the eggs to start hatching. We set up a webcam to take photos every 2 minutes over a 24 hour period. The success rate for hatching is normally around 50% but 11 of our eggs hatched which was really amazing. Please click the link below to see the movie of our chicks' first unsteady steps into the world! The chicks will be spending time in each of the classrooms over the next week. For information and to view the Living Eggs Website click here! |

Banham Zoo School Trip - KS1 We had the most wonderful time at Banham Zoo on 2nd July. The visit tied in with our topic work and Barnaby Bear. We saw wonderful and exotic animals and thoroughly enjoyed the day. All the children behaved exceptionally well and were a credit to our school. Here are some photos of our day... can you spot Barnaby in any of the photos?

Basketball Tournament On the 1st July we took two teams from year 5 and year 6 to Netherhall School for a Basketball Tournament. We played against approximately 10 other schools with fantastic results. Our Year 6 team played extremely well but our Year 5 Team won the whole tournament! These children were all superb ambassadors for our school, congratulations to you all.

The Raptor Foundation On 4th June 2008 we had a visit from The Raptor Foundation, The Heath, St. Ives Road, Woodhurst, Cambridgeshire, PE28 3BT. We were given the opportunity to learn about some beautiful birds of prey. The Raptor Foundation looks after over 200 birds, from owls to hawks, buzzards to falcons and all the native British species of owl. The very knowledgeable falconers gave us a wonderful insight into the conservation and care of these amazing birds as well as allowing us the priviledge of meeting and touching some of the birds themselves. If you are interested in visiting or contacting The Raptor Foundation their telephone number is: 01487 741140 or take a look at the website: www.raptorfoundation.org.uk. |

now have school email addresses for all the children. This is a fantastic
site with numerous additional educational resources which we shall be
introducing to the children over the coming months. It can be accessed
from home and school using the child's own school username and password.
This is a 'secure' site provided by Cambridgeshire County Council Education
ICT Services for educational purposes only. |
